User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008112309 Iceweasel/3.0.4 (Debian-3.0.4-1)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008112309 Iceweasel/3.0.4 (Debian-3.0.4-1)

I maintain an extensive bookmarks tree, mainly to online documentation or image collections, and it occurs that i would like to open several bookmarks out of one subfolder, but not all of this folder (since that might be some dozens that i don't need at the moment). I imagine to be able to do a Ctrl+Click multiple selection according to the known file manager custom. Then a right click would give me the option 'Open selection in tabs'. Other options like 'Delete' could be applied to multiple bookimarks selection too.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put together a thematic subfolder with 50 bookmarks of online documentation
2. Try to read up 10 out of these

Actual Results:
Find yourself opening the bookmarks navigation 10 time from the beginning to open these 10 tiems in tabs,
OR
Issue 'Open folder in tabs' then go for a coffee while gateway is grunting under load, and later try to figure which are the 10 itmes you wanted by reading the headlines, and closing 40 tabs one after the other.

Expected Results:
The problem should not be necessary in the first place.

I'm not complaining here, i never will (well i'm a developer myself) i just want to share my ideas. I filed several bookmark ideas already, over the years, since i'm a heavy bookmark user. I am impressed how far it went, and i'm thankful you did so much good work here. Firefox just rocks.

This WORKSFORME on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20081218 Shiretoko/3.1b3pre RTSE/1.1.0.20081207 ID:20081218070302 (see attached image)
Great :P Looks like this is not platform independent (as i assumed) - sry.
This is the debian version of firefox here, iceweasel 3.0.4.
Anyway, as usual, Mac developer know what's cool....
Fixed ? But it does not work on this platform ?
Changing platform per comment 2
OS: All → Linux
Hardware: All → x86_64
The code for this is platform independent, so I'm unclear as to why you wouldn't see this as an option.
I'm curious too. I realize i should describe what exactly does not work:
With focus on a bookmark entry, i press Ctrl and then a singel left-click. I would expect the entry to get highlighted, but not opened; giving me the opportunity to select another couple fo entries with Ctrl+Click.
What however happens, is the bookmark is opened as with ordinary leftclick (w/0 Ctrl).

The Ctrl key works here in this browser, for example i can zoom in / out with Ctrl+mousewheel.

The only thing that might be unusual is the windowmanager, wmaker. There's no full gnome session running (besides launching the gnome-settings-daemon). wmaker has an option 'do not bind keyboard shortcuts' but it does not matter if i check this. There's no other option checked, and Ctrl key and mouse work in any other app as usual.

I attach a list of installed packages - i don't know if this is helpful, or what's of interest, but anyway.

To make it complete, i see 'Open all in tabs' with focus only on a folder; not with focus on a single bookmark. And selecting multiple bookmarks is not possible. If you've got any idea what i should examine more closely, just go ahead. --mi

ps. Is 'Fixed' the standard tag for unconfirmed (possible) bugs ? I really just wonder.
