The production-prometheus-vm02 virtual machine has been experiencing numerous hangs recently. In particular, the build cycles started around the following dates-times seem never to have terminated:
2008-12-24 08:32:00
(Machine didn't build between 2008-12-22 15:21:45 and 2008-12-24 03:56:00)
2008-12-21 03:07:00 nightly
2008-12-20 13:46:00
2008-12-20 03:23:00 nightly
2008-12-19 04:45:00 nightly
2008-12-16 10:03:00 and 12:12:00 in succession
2008-12-16 01:59:00 nightly
2008-12-15 20:08:00
2008-12-15 03:36:00 nightly
2008-12-14 03:43:00 nightly
2008-12-13 15:29:00
2008-12-12 00:10:00
Nothing before that; I went back to 2008-12-05 22:01:00

"nightly" in the above list means the build cycle immediately following the unterminated one was for a nightly build. Presumably the unterminated cycle was destined to be a nightly itself in those cases.

This VM has a lifespan that is now measured in weeks, given that we're going to be EOLing the 1.8 branch very shortly. Not going to expend the effort investigating.
