User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081201 Firefox/3.1b2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081201 Firefox/3.1b2

About one week ago firefox 3.1b2 started acting weirdly - I can't save passwords on some sites (mainly apache basic authorisation) - there's no bar with buttons shown on top of the screen. After enabling debug logging I've got this in error console:

(NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY)"  location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsLoginManagerPrompter.js :: anonymous :: line 1047"  data: no]

Source file: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsLoginManagerPrompter.js
Row: 551

I thought it could be related to 3.0.2 encoding problem, but old passwords remain intact.

Tried full reinstallation, creating new profile and disabling all extensions - still the same effect.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open site with apache basic auth, probably some other sites don't work too
2. Try to save data
3.
Actual Results:
There's no bar with buttons to save password or cancel it.
Component: Security → Password Manager
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
QA Contact: firefox → password.manager
Please also attach some debug logging, see: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox:Password_Manager_Debugging

What sites does this happen on? This bug report would be much more useful if you actually gave an example.

I'm using trunk at home, it's working here without any problems. I'll try it at work tomorrow

Maybe I haven't stressed it enough - it happened with all new sites with apache basic authorisation dialog; I have apache/mysql/php server installed here, entering new credentials in phpmyadmin prompt should raise that bar.

If you want simpler example - it happened when I signed into bugzilla today - no bar with question if I want to save those credentials. It's working on my home computer... It won't ask to save my pass also on http://poczta.o2.pl

I'll attach detailed debug log tomorrow, I just thought this could be the most relevant thing of all those informations.
I've installed Firefox 3.1b3pre and it's working flawlessly. Thanks :)
