User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5 visiting an address without DNS gave an address not found error as expected. What was unexpected was the following help: Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. "ww.mozilla.org" instead of "www.mozilla.org") the domain is mozilla.org and the address is ww.mozilla.org/www.mozilla.org Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enter an address without a proper DNS 2. Wait for the error message 3. ??? 4. Profit! Actual Results: Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. "ww.mozilla.org" instead of "www.mozilla.org") Expected Results: Did you make a mistake when typing the address? (e.g. "ww.mozilla.org" instead of "www.mozilla.org") n/a
The portion of the URL in question is the domain. www.mozilla.org is a domain name same as mozilla.org is.. (3rd level, to be exact.) Since .org is top-level, mozilla.org would be second, and so on. The text is correct.
