There have been a lot of complaints about the call quality of my softphone. Would it be possible to get an actual desktop phone?
Brad - which softphone are you using? You're using a headset?

Call quality is largely a function of your Internet connectivity. I'm concerned that we'd ship you a Polycom phone and you'd still have the same issues.

We could test with a different headset or even have you terminate your SIP connection in Toronto instead of Mountain View.

I midaired with mrz, but I was going to ask for more specifics on the quality issues, too... what kind of call quality problems? voice distorted, or choppy, or... ?

Also, who's your local ISP?
I've used a few different clients (Skype, n810's "Internet call", sjphone, gizmo). I believe the complaint is choppiness and that I drop out. Perhaps the shorter haul to Toronto would help things. I have Comcast cable modem service.
Fell off my plate (I forget why I have it). Reassigning to Sean to set up an extension for you in Toronto to see if that resolves the problem.

Ok, you've got an account setup on Toronto now. Server address is caadm01.office.mozilla.org, everything else should be the same as before. Can you try again and let me know how it goes?

Brad, going to close this out for now. Feel free to re-open if it continues to be a problem.
