This is also the default action in IE. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable autoscroll on a webpage (middle mouse click) 2. Press keyboard up / down keys Actual Results: 3. The autoscroll speed navigator does not jump accordingly, instead the webpage is scrolled up / down, but this effect is shortly cancelled out by autoscroll Expected Results: 3. The autoscroll speed navigator is changed according to the pressed key (up/down), to either increase, decrease or stop autoscrolling (while not disabling autoscroll, just change the speed we are moving through the page at) -

Does IE also adjust the mouse position when you press the keyboard arrow?

I use my own scrolling software, but some pages are only scrollable with page up or page down (e.g. Google Maps or Orbis-Gis interpret attempts to scroll as commands to zoom), and others are only scrollble with scrolling tools (e.g. the Internet Archive interprets attempts to page down as commands to flip pages).
So users need to be able to pick whichever options works on each page. Enabling Autoscroll shouldn't disable Page Down, and vice-versa.
