Wim, this is a basically empty .ics file. Could you please attach the real one.

Attachment is obsolete: true
This one should do it. Something went wrong while exporting and I had to do it all over again :( .
It includes main holidaydates like christmas without enddate, unrepeating days like Ascensionday until 2015 and schoolholidays until summer 2011.
Wouldn't it be an idea to include this calendar into the Sunbird/Lightning installer?
Kind regards,
Wim

Wim, did you use the updated Dutch Holiday-Calendar as a basis for yours? I saw a lot of different timezones in your ics, this may lead to problems. May-holidays, Autumn Holidays etc are harldy public holidays, these are just for students. Summer Holidays are mainly for people who work in construction. You entered the complete bouwvak for region nord (friesland) but just the start of the holidays for Central and South of the Netherlands.

Indeed I used the Dutch as a starter, I just translated the common holidays to Frisian. So where can I setup the correct Timezone in Lightning? Or do I just have to (de)select Options > Timezone.

Either for students or parents and all other, life in The Netherlands is somehow divided by the most common holidays, so I put them all in for as far as known by now (2011). If someone doesn't want this information it's easier to just delete it from the imported calendar.
Because it's the Frisian calendar I just put in Boufak Noard (north) being the main area this calendar will be used. To not mess up with to much info I added also the startdates for the other 2 regions in the Netherlands. Of course this is arguable.
Any recommendations are welcome.
Wim

Where did you add it to?
I can´t see it on http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/holidays.html#F
Or is there a relay on the page?
The file might change due to the comments from Bas.

There is a 15-30 minute delay after checkin.
But you can take a look at the checkin here:
