I can't get my Mac trunk builds to update today. I am able to update fine on Win Vista and all 1.9.1 updates were fine.
This is once again likely due to something other than app update. The probable culprit is: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472817 In the future you can add the app.update.log.all pref with a boolean value of true. Check for updates and the url it sends the request to will be in the error console. Take the url and open it in the browser. If the value is <updates> </updates> Then there is no update available as far as app update is concerned. If an update should be available and this value is returned then please file a mozilla.org bug. Chances are you can ask one of the server ops people what's going on and get an answer.
Rob: Thanks for providing the information in Comment 1 and will configure that pref accordingly. I did not know about the other bug and I thought it weird that it was just Mac updates since the other day it was all platforms.
