I just upgraded Eudora from version beta 3 to beta 4. Now when I run it, it opens many instances at once, each open to a different mailbox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I had beta 3 installed previously
2. Installed beta 4 on top of it.
3. Double clicked to run it.
Actual Results:  
Many instences (windows) opened up at the same time. Each one opens up to a different mailbox.

Expected Results:  
It should open up only one instance.

I have recently been infected by a Bagle virus, so I don't know if that's a factor or not.

I think what you are seeing is a result of a new option in the Penelope preferences. There is a new preference "Automatically open mailboxes that receive new messages". Unchecking that should make the problem go away.

Re-open this bug if this is not the solution.

My Eudora (beta 4) has stopped working altogether. However, when I go back to the previous version (beta 3), it works fine.

When I install Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 or 3.0b1 it works fine. When I add Penelope 0.1a22 to Thunderbird 2.0.0.19, it works fine. When I add Penelope 0.5a1 to Thunderbird 3.0b1, it won't work.

The new symptom I have now is that it loads a button on the task bar, but no window opens up on the desktop.
