I've unchecked all columns to receive email notifications when "The CC field changes" on bugzilla.mozilla.org, but I still receive them, nonetheless. I'm not sure whether this is only for bugs I've commented on before I changed the prefs or not, since I don't have a sandbox to test in.
As a side note, it seems that CC change notifications should be opt-in rather than opt-out. Most people don't care about them, and CC changes to old bug reports always seem to cause a slew of removed CCs and the accompanying notifications.

Could you paste one unexpected email you got, as attachment? The bugmail footer will tell us why you got the email.

Btw, I also unchecked "The CC field changes" on bmo, and it's working fine.
