three days ago i downloaded the latest update for firefox and since that time my computer will not enter standby mode nor will my monitor shutdown while inactive for the allotted time. this is on a windows xp machine. and is very bad for trying to conserve energy.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set standby at 5 min w/ firefox running = nothing happened
2. set standby at 5 min w/o firefox running = went into sleep mode as it should
3. retried at 5 min w/ firefox running = nothing happened
Actual Results:
when firefox is running, the power management options in xp stop working

Expected Results:
should have allowed computer to go inot standby mode
Please reopen if you can reproduce this issue with the latest Firefox while in safe mode. Also, please provide more information as to what Firfox was doing at the time that windows was supposed to go into standby mode.
