I've noticed over the last week that the Mac and Windows check boxes are tending to get stuck on trunk or 1.9.1 due to the frequency of checkins.

I think what doesn't help this is that they are approx 1 hour builds and we currently have builds additionally scheduled every 3 hours.

The combination of the short schedule time (versus build time) and the frequency of checkins I think is tending to make them "stick".

I think we can extend the period of additional builds to every 6 hours and that should help a bit.

I know the intention was to run two builds side by side like the linux check boxes, but I think in any case we should try extending that period to 6 hours as we shouldn't really need them every 3 hours.

This has already been done, and the current periodic builder is set to 12 hours, since, rarely do 12 hours go by without at least a checkin. Really, these builds are not really necessary, except to keep the builders on the tinderboxen if there is no checkin activities.

You are reading it right, I was talking about the non-unittest master.

I've now moved them both up to 12 hours, and we might want to lower it again once I land something like bug 473922 for our buildbot masters.
