User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090113 Shiretoko/3.1b3pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090113 Shiretoko/3.1b3pre In the Tools menu, "Clear Private Data" has been changed to "Clear Recent History". Yet, in Tools | Options (Win XP), the Privacy tab includes a section on "Private Data". Also, under the settings for Private Data, "Clear Private Data" is used as the title of the pop-up dialog box. This can be confusing to the external user who doesn't have any experience with previous versions of firefox. Either the "Private Data" or "Recent History" naming convention should be used on everywhere on the browser (as well as documentation). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Tools | Options (Win XP). Also, notice the "Clear Recent History" option in the Tools menu. 2. Go to the Privacy Tab and click on the Settings button in the Private Data section. 3. Notice the title of the pop-dialog box. Actual Results: Clear Recent History is shown instead of Clear Private Data. Expected Results: Either Clear Recent History or Clear Private Data needs to be used as a title for the same function for continuity.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
This occurred when the privacy tab wasn't updated in time for 3.1, introducing multiple forms of terminology in the same release. Duping to 464204 so we can cover privacy terminology changes in a central place.
