Firefox 3.0.5, IE Tab 1.5.20081203, PTBR, Windows XP Pro SP3 PTBR.
After closing firefox and opening again, favorites from favorites bar disappear. After closing it again and opening they come back. I have bookmarks only in this bar, no folders.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create bookmarks only on the favorites bar
2.browse some pages
3.close browser
4. open it again
Actual Results:  
Links from favorites bar disappear.

Is the favorites bar something from IE Tab ?
Or do you mean the Firefox Bookmark bar ?

please try in Safe mode: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
check also that on close and before reopening the app there is no hanging firefox.exe process in the task manager
