Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

When I downloaded Firefox 3.0.5 and start it up, it shows up a blank page and no previous pages that i have used. Im not allowed to go back a page or any page. No bookmarks are saved, history is deleted after going to a new site. When i open a new tab it has the same address as the last tab.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download Firefox 3.0.5 after 2.0.0.20
2.Start Firefox Up.
3.
Actual Results:
I only get a blank page and history is deleted after each site.

Expected Results:
Kept the history that i had.
your places.sqlite could be locked, that could be due to Norton Antivirus/360, to another antispyware/antivirus software, or due to a Firefox.exe process hang in memory (check with the task manager).
Also since this is a new upgrade, i would try a new clean install, to exclude some problem with the upgrade.
"i would try a new clean install, to exclude some problem with the upgrade."

Do you mean uninstall firefox 2 and delete folder? then download the 3.0.5?

how do i check the Firefox.exe process in task manager?

i mean that, don't remove your profile folder though (better making a backup of it too): http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profile

CTRL ALT CANC and check in the task manager, kill eventually hang firefox.exe

eventually you can ask for further support on mozillazine's forums: http://forums.mozillazine.org/
