delete does not work as long as the grouped-by-sort-header(s) is/are selected

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. i send 3 messages, titled "finaltest", "finaltest2" and "finaltest3". all sent/received today.

2. i use the "grouped by sort" and sort by date desc.

3. i filter for "finaltest" and get 3 messages as well as the "grouped by sort" header:

Today (3/3)
- finaltest3
- finaltest2
- finaltest

4. going to the message list i hit ctrl+a to select all messages *including* the grouped-by-sort-header.

5. i notice that delete in the toolbar is greyed out. "delete messages" from the context-menu (right mouse button) is also greyed out.

6. i hit the "del" key nothing happens.

7. i select the topmost message: "finaltest3". contextmenu & toolbar now have the delete command enabled.

8. i delete the mail "finaltest3". this works.

9. i now hit ctrl-a to select all messages. the delete commands are available.

10. i hit delete in the toolbar. nothing is deleted.

11. i hit "delete messages" from the context menu - nothing happens

12. to delete the messages, i have to deselect the grouped-by-sort-header
Actual Results:
delete does not work as long as the grouped-by-sort-header(s) is/are selected

Expected Results:
deleting all messages should work even if we have the grouped-by-sort-headers selected.
Summary: Deleting *all* E-Mails in a filtered & grouped by sort -> date desc list → Deleting *all* (ctrl-a) E-Mails in a "filtered & grouped by sort -> date desc list" messagelist does not work properly
i just made an interessting discovery. this not-able-to-delete-problem exists only if the first selected item is a grouped-by-header and not an actual email. it does not matter if i sort by date or sender, and then group-by-sort.

maybe there are some checks before deleting and they only check the first selected (from-top-to-bottom) item

cheers,
Can't find a duplicate.

Xref bug 306460 - as it seems to me that ctrl-a should not be selecting the sort by separators.
