One would hope not ;)
Which message button? In the standalone message window, in the message header, or on the toolbar? Is it win7 only?

The problemoccured after initial installation of Thunderbird. The message delete button on the tool bar did not work. I could not make it display images within messages, and choices in the drop down lists were greyed out.
I went back after a reboot of the OS to verify and get more detail and everything was working as it should. The reboot cured whatever the problem was.
