Can we update the components of the Tech Evangelism product section to include all locales where we ship Firefox? The Mozilla Localization product section should have all the localizations within its component section. As we continue to expand to new markets, we are hoping to encourage localization teams and community members to file bugs for web compatibility/tech evangelism issues that new locales might be experiencing.

Want to help out by providing a list of the missing ones? That would save us a lot of time.

these are the components open now under the tech evangelism "product" and rough bug count by component. 1702 "English US" 315 "English Other" 267 "Other" 110 "German" 100 "Hebrew" 66 "Spanish" 53 "French" 52 "Chinese-Simplified" 42 "Portuguese" 40 "Dutch" 32 "Italian" 23 "Danish" 16 "Korean" 13 "Japanese" 8 "Chinese-Traditional" 5 "Norwegian" 5 "Arabic" 4 "Czech" 2 "Polish" 1 "component" Here is the list of locales that we ship. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
Should we use languages, countries or locales as a base for this?
good question. the webpages that have problem will be in a specific language, suggesting we use locale, but new users getting involved in the project might not understand the locale codes. The full set of language codes might be a bit of overkill for the start of the project since miight be unlikely we get reports on broken webpages on some obscure locales, but it might not be worth the time to weed out which ones are unlikely.
Using countries would be comfortable from our point of view. If we plan to expand in, say, Chile, we would search for most reported broken sites in the 'Chile' component. But this would work a lot worse later in the process: suppose someone from Chile reports a website in Spanish. A couple of Mexicans offer their opinions (b/c the site is popular in Mexico too). Finally the fix is provided by someone from Spain. All this in 'Chile' component. Messy. I think that the current approach to use languages (not locales) is a good solution (meaning one Spanish, one English, one French etc). It encourages community participation (someone from France can simply track the "French" component) and is understandable for new-comers. If we were to chose a different approach, I think that for this to make sense we would need to know how we would be using these components and what the purpose of having es-ES and es-AR separately is. How can this help us be more efficient?

There's apparently still bugs happening in tech evang, so I think we should create them. Thanks for picking this up still. I'd add Mongolian to the mix, we haven't shipped them in 3.6 or 4, but they're not totally off the table. In return, I'd remove Occitan. Gaelic should probably be Scottish Gaelic, to not confuse it with Irish. Can you check if there's a group of people who watch all current evang aliases? We should probably get those on board. Stick with the pattern for QA contact and default assignee, language@evangelism.bugs.
