When doing Edit->Find->Search Messages..., it would be nice to be able to select more than one mailbox ('Search for messages in' field) at a time.  This is especially helpful if one is not sure in which mailbox a message resides.

AFAIR, it's DUP of already requested enhancement, and one of repeatedly opened requests. Have you searched bugzilla.mozilla.org well via "Advanced Search" for bugs with "Product=Thunderbird OR other_than_Thunderbird" before bug open? (Already opened request may be Product=Core or Product=MailNews Core, because it's not UI only enhancement request)

By the way, creation of ad-hoc "(Saved) Search Folder(Virtual Folder)" is a currently available solution for ad-hoc "multiple folder search", although selection of all mail folders as search target is still very tough work.

I did an extensive search for keywords "multiple search mailboxes" and came up with nothing.  Perhaps the existing enhancement requests have none of those keywords in them, but that's hard to believe.  Feel free to dup this ticket to one of the others.  I have no problem with that.  It would be nice, though, if you could add my keywords (above) to that existing enhancement request so that others searching for the request will find it in the future.

The ad-hoc method you describe is painful.  What I envision is a multiple-select pull-down menu instead of the single-select pull-down menu we have now.

I also can't reach the bug(s) again which I thought I had read, by my quick "Advanced Search" :-) Someone say "mailbox" but others say "folder". Someone say "multiple search", others say "cross (folder) search", and other others say "cross (account) search". I think "search" is commonly used in bug summary, but I can say nothing about other terms in bug summary. Generally speaking, assist by AI(artificial intelligence) is required in searching.
