Currently it is possible to create events on a single day by clicking and dragging. However, it isn't possible to drag over multiple days. This should be possible in week, multiweek and month views.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click and drag in week view over multiple days
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Event is created but is constrained to one day
Expected Results:
Multiday event is created

FWIW, this is also suggested a couple of times in bug 444585 ("Allow to create Events/Tasks in Multi/Monthview more easily").

I'm quite sure we have another bug for this. Could someone help find a duplicate? Otherwise this bug should be confirmed.
