So, I sent an e-mail to an eBay seller. The URL for that was:

http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowCoreAskSellerQuestion&requested=timholliday&iid=120317336283&frm=284&redirect=0&SSPageName=PageAskSellerQuestion_VI

When I tried to send the message, I got the following:

http://pages.ebay.com/messages/page_not_responding.html?eBayErrorEventName=p4%60jhsbfrdlwc%3D9we*u6ehmqg721-2009.02.04.12.37.49.490.MST

With the following message:

Page Not Responding

The eBay page or feature you are attempting to access is not responding.
Please try the options below:

    * Try to access the feature directly from the eBay Home Page, instead of using a bookmark.
    * Wait a few minutes and try to access the feature again.

If you have waited ten to fifteen minutes and you still can't access your page:

    * Check our Announcement Board to see if the feature is currently unavailable.

If what you are looking for is unavailable, you may still be able to access other parts of the site from the eBay Home page

The really add part was that I was able to do this messaging on Firefox, but not on Safari.
Weird, huh?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Log in on ebay. go to seller messaging
2. type message
3.hit "send"
Actual Results:
I got the weird not responding, on Camino, and Safari. Works on Mozilla Firefox.

Expected Results:
The message gets sent and I get a reply!
If it doesn't work with Safari, it's likely not a problem in Camino.

Do you use a proxy server at all? Both Camino and Safari use the OS proxy settings, while Firefox uses its own proxy settings. That's about the only thing I can think of off the top of my head...
Hi, this is Melissa again. Well, I reset Camino. It is not working on Camino. It is working on Safari. It is also working on Firefox.

Also, another weird thing happens when I try to log in to my account on South Beach diet. When I log in, a page comes up. It says: Length Required

Again, works fine on Safari and Firefox.
I'd be happy to work with you, if there could be some way to have you promise not to mess with my accounts in the future. Or to send it by phone or something, not on this public site, for obvious reasons.
Sincerely,
Melissa K.
For what it's worth, this works fine for me. I was able to ask the seller a question about that item without issue using a recent Camino nightly.

It seems very likely that this is/was some transient problem with the server, especially given that it now works in Safari and didn't before. Can you try

http://pimpmycamino.com/parts/troubleshoot-camino

and see if the problem persists?
Melissa, have you had a chance to try my suggestion in comment 3 yet?
Dear Chris,
Hi, I just recevied your e-mails. Well, I did try "troubleshoot Camino" and it worked on South Beach Diet now. And then, it worked on my regular Camino. So, I guess that weirdness is gone.
Now I'll try the eBay thing...
OK, eBay is working now too. Go figure.
Thank you for your help, Chris. I'll keep that trouble shoot camino thing around though!
WORKSFORME, since we don't know what the problem was.

Dear Chris,
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.
For future reference, might you please explain what "Troubleshoot Camino" can be used for? In other words, if a problem continued on MY CAMINO, but was fine on TROUBLESHOOT CAMINO, what does that mean? How can I use that info, if at all?
I'll keep hold of that application, and try it if I have a problem next time, though.
Sincerely,
Melissa K.

Troubleshoot Camino automates the process of launching and running Camino with a clean profile folder and cache. The profile folder is where your preferences, cookies, history, and bookmarks (as well as other related files) are stored.

It does this on a temporary basis, without touching your original settings or cache, and it's a very useful first step in the troubleshooting process. A lot of problems we see reported with Camino are the result of certain prefs being set (or set to a certain value), or due to stale files in the cache, or due to other weirdness in the profile folder. Checking the behaviour with a clean profile is a good way to know whether it's actually a problem in Camino or just something screwy with the application settings.

In this case, since it worked with a clean profile and then subsequently started working with your original profile, it sounds like the issue was with eBay's server(s) rather than your computer.
