477216 - install portable to thumb drive changes all msg folders from descending to ascending

There are over 100 kept msg folders which are sorted descending on the desktop TB.  Install to portable app and all are changed to ascending (same version).  This is readily seen as the read & unread msg count is not numerical, but 3 question marks.  

When click on a folder the taskbar reads "building summary file of xxx."  When completed go to the view menu and change to descending which is extremely time consuming.  Previously this occurred subsequent to a TB upgrade (bug 364531), so won't be doing that again when traveling!

Since there hasn't been another comment, wonder if I'm the only one experiencing this -- 3 times out of 3 over 2 years when traveling.  Perhaps not explained properly?  If method of installation of the profile is important, the profile content from the desktop is merely copied to the USB Portable version.

Could there be something in my quite old profile (from 1.x) allowing or causing this, which evidently is a return to the default setting of ascending?

The prefs.js might not be the same for default values depending which thunderbird your run. Try setting the pref yourself and make sure the prefs ends up saved in the profile.
