When I grab a tab and drag it out of the window on a Mac, it creates a new window with that tab in it (removing it from the old window). When I drag a tab out of the window in windows, it creates a shortcut on the desktop. I haven't tried my linux box to see what happens.

David, were you using the same version of Firefox both platforms? I am not able to reproduce the problem using 3.0.6. If I switch to 3.1b3pre, however, I am able to detach tabs (feature) on both platforms. Maybe you were running 3.1x on the Mac when you saw this problem?

Should have been fixed by one of the fixes during the Firefox 3.5 developement a while ago. If you still can see this problem with a recent build feel free to reopen.
