on win95, seamonkey beta2 build.

http://www.beatnik.com
selected "get the beatnik player" link and downloaded the plugin.

I was able to down load with seamonkey, save, and run the installer.
the installer offers options for beatnik for IE and beatnik for
"Netscape Navigator."

Its not clear if the setup is going to configure for 4.x or Seamonkey
or both so I just continued with the install. At the end of this
install it launches the 4.x browser to view a page on the beatnik site....

audio is heard when visiting beatnik sites under 4.x now,
but when I go to the same pages under seamonkey I get no audio.

To fix this bug we might need a change to the beatnik installer
to setup installation for seamonkey, or seamonkey might need
to do a better job of detecting the beatnik player, or
we might need a combination of both...

The current Beatnik player will not run in mozilla due to plugin architectural
changes. In mozilla we go out of the way to prevent most 4x plugins from running
(real, flash and acrobat being the exceptions). The current beatnik installer
hasn't been modified for mozilla - it updated your nn4x installation.

An XPCOM plugin is currently in development.

cool.. thanks for the update. about how far off do you think
the xpcom plugin is? is there a tracking bug I can watch
for updates?
Chris, there is no mozilla tracking bug for Beatnik. All I can say is that
we're working on something, but can't get more specific than that right now.
FYI: bugs affecting beatnik can be marked with the beatnik keyword, and you can
search using it as well of course.
