Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081201 Firefox/3.1b2

The summary pretty much sums it up. If the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" option is selected, and the browser crashes, there's no way for me to choose which documents to not open when restoring the session. If one of the documents causes the browser to crash, I have to lose all open documents.

If this is intentional (and I don't see why it would be), users need to be informed that "Show my windows and tabs from last time" is a dangerous option.

I think that 3.1 beta 3 will have that fixed. not sure on the bug. you can download the pre from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-1.9.1/.
I just downloaded that nightly build (Shiretoko). When I forcibly kill the process ("Force Quit" from Activity Monitor, which may be different from a crash), and then restart, I don't get the restore tab. However, if I "kill -9" the process from the command line, I DO get the restore tab. I'm not sure what to make of that.

I reported this about when I was having problems with Flash locking up. Since I don't have Flash locking up anymore, I don't know of a way to get Firefox to freeze so that I can "Force Quit" it while it wouldn't have any mechanisms up to catch the signal (SIGTERM?).

Do you know of a web page that is known to crash and/or freeze the current version? I could try that. Maybe something that breaks Tracemonkey?

Thanks!
What you experience is the expected behavior: after the first crash we automatically restore all previously opened tabs (independent of the "Show my windows and tabs..." option!) and only after the next consecutive crash you'll actually get the option to unselect potentially crashy tabs. -> WORKSFORME

That would be a bug, if it actually happened.
