User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011913 Firefox/3.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011913 Firefox/3.0.6 I have a dualscreen setup and one big 19" and a small 17". That is why I'm running both on different resolutions. Most of the times when I maximize firefox on my smaller screen (the primairy) it uses the resolution of my bigger one (where my taskbar is) and hence the top falls of the screen. This is unworkable, so I have decided to downgrade firefox to 3.05, where I never had the problem. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.open firefox on the small screen 2.minimize (preferbly via the taskbar on the bigger screen) 3.maximize or restore via the taskbar if this fails, try the following: 1.open firefox on the small screen 2.minimize (preferbly via the taskbar on the bigger screen) 3.close firefox 4.open firefox 5.maximize or restore via the taskbar Actual Results: The first three steps failed to reproduce the bug, the second 5 steps did reproduce it. Expected Results: The topbar of firefox shouldn't be `falling of' my monitor. It should remember on which monitor it pops up and set the resolution correct acording to the monitor Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] NVIDE Gforce 6200 2 screens, that both are connected to one videocard 1: 1152x864 32 bit 2: 1280x960

See also bug #314809. I can reproduce this with Firefox 3.0.12 on Windows XP Pro SP3. I'm using an expanded desktop (two monitors, each on an separate graphics controller). Every time I had firefox maximized on the second monitor it will be restored on the first one after restart. However this does not happen if firefox is not maximized. Then the position will be restored correctly on the second monitor.

(In reply to comment #2) > Jimm, can you see what's causing this? I don't have the setup for this, but if we had a regression range that would help, even if it's a month or so in width.

disabling config.trim_on_minimize might make for an interesting test on this.

Do you still see this problem using the newest versions of Firefox (3.6)? If you do not, please close the bug with resolution set to WORKSFORME (after staus=RESOLVED). If problem was caused by add-on or non-mozilla code please use INVALID resolution. If you do still see the problem, please comment in the bug.
