bug 463577 did a lot of good in reducing the visual impact of forwarding messages, but it did so only for the tables that we create. Tables that are in emails being forwarded still get the ghastly dots. philor says: the bug you want to file is to take them off |blockquote[type=cite] table| (and all the other parts). Despite that being the most expensive selector possible, the only other thing you could do would be to have libmime mark tables in some way while preparing the quote, which would be all kinds of ugly. Dunno whether it's better to have replying to crap messages with tables nested ten or twenty deep horribly slow, or horribly ugly (nor do I know of any empirical data with a current Gecko to back up hyatt's assertions from 2000 in https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Writing_Efficient_CSS). My take is that i doubt perf is a real problem in real life, while the glare is -ingly obvious. Since phil had so much fun w/ my last attempt at this...
