There should be a way to save sessions the same way they are automatically done after a crash, but for this, manually.  Rather than managing different sessions at once with different profiles you can "Save session as" work... and then go home, use your browser to do whatever you want... and then go back to work the next day and open the session called work.  This is better than using profiles because 1) you can easily share sessions with others and 2) it would get cumbersome with 2 profiles especially if you had to sync up bookmarks and all.
