I'm Thai team member.
I would like to request for Thai word breaking and rendering on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. I requesting this because we, Thai team, are afraid of Apple might change Thai support APIs like they did on removing bold and italic faces from default Thai font in Mac OS X 10.5.
The following links are test case for both:-
http://www.keng.ws/files/firefox/thai-word-break-test.html - An expected result from this test case is Firefox should be able to break newline on this page without horizontal scrollbar show up.
http://www.keng.ws/files/firefox/thai-word-rendering.html - An expected result from this test case is Firefox should be able to render all characters correctly.
If you can send me screenshots of those test cases for verfication would be great!

(I asked for this to be filed so we didn't lose track of the request.)
Can someone with 10.6 check this out tomorrow?

Marcia, can you take a look please on the lab 10.6 box? Alternately, i'll run some screenshots and testpasses against windows 7, and submit them through an email thread.

Thanks to :tchung and :juanb.
Windows 7 works as expected cool!
On Mac OS X 10.6 wordbreak works as expected, but I see the problem with tone mark rendering (as you may know Thai has 4 tone mark characters it will be put over the vovel mark [base character] [vowel mark] [tone mark]).
I've attach my rendering result on Mac OS X 10.5 with Shiretoko 3.1b3pre nithgly. At the top Thai sentence ทดสอบการวาดข้อความไทย, compare the word ข้อ on Mac OS X 10.5 and ข้อ on Mac OS X 10.6 tone mark position is slightly different which means Mac OS X 10.6 not be able to render the position of tone marks correctly.
Thai team is investigating this problem, thanks for your help!

One more request.
Can you test those test cases on Safari which is shipped with Mac OS X 10.6? I want to compare with Firefox to figure out it's Apple or Firefox's problem.
Thanks again!

I see the same tone marks rendering problem on Safari.
Could you please copy and paste those on both test cases and to TextEdit.app? Just want to verify it's apple's issue not mozilla's.

OK, seems apple changed something on Thai support, and this is not a mozilla's issue.
Hmmm, how can I contact apple about this issue, any idea?

You can file a ticket at http://bugreporter.apple.com/ if you have a (free) ADC membership. Be sure to reference this Mozilla bug so that they can visually see all of the various screenshots. (And be as detailed as possible. Apple likes to close bugs. :) )
