User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011913 Firefox/3.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011913 Firefox/3.0.6 I observed that cookies vanished although they are mentioned in a whitelist. The cleared cookies are on the whitelist since FF2 and there were no trouble until the last FF update to 3.0.6. Reguarly I order FF to clear all cookies except the cookies on the whitelist. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. In the above example (http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/advchart/frames/frames.asp?symb=LNUX) change the timeframe to 5 years 2. Store chart settings and confirm with ok 3. You can see the new cookie in cookies sqlite 4. Make "bigcharts.marketwatch.com" and "marketwatch.com" whitelist members 5. Make a copy of cookies.sqlite When the cookies disappeared I restored the cookies.sqlite file and all seems ok for a few new starts (maybe 3-5) of FF. Then the cookies got lost again. Actual Results: The cookies vanished after a few starts, means the timeframe of the showed chart shrinks to one year again. Expected Results: There should be no change, means the timeframe of the chart should be 5 years as long as the cookie is on the whitelist.

This can't be reproduced by me and others. Do you use security/privacy software on your system like Spybot, CCleaner or a privacy function in your firewall ?
No there is no change in my system but the FF update. No Cleaner or something else is running on my system. I think it is only a problem if other users confirm the bug, else it is my problem only. I look to track down the reason and notify later.
OK, got the culprit. It was the Tor Button 1.2.0 add-on I installed by coincidence. I couldn't determine why the cookies vanish sometimes at startup of FF and sometimes stay. But I can tell definitely that there are certain routines in the add-on to manage cookies and the misbehaviour of FF stops after deactivation of the Tor Button add-on. I apologize for claiming a bug in FF. But I suggest to strongly recommend a FF test without any add-ons before reporting a bug. I wasn't aware and may be others also.
We usually suggest to use http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode before reporting bugs :-) I would suggested it after your comment #2...
