JVM crashes, when the webclient starts with a mouse pointer inside and time of
html loading is small.
To reproduce it:
1. Start your webclient with a small local html file.
2. The mouse pointer must be inside your webclient window.
3. When the html file is loaded try to move the mouse pointer from one
html-element on a page to another element (or simply try to move your mouse out
of webclient window, or click a mouse button). Usually JVM crashes.
It crashes only with Java HotSpot. Without it all works fine.
Platform&OS: Intel Pentium II-350, 128 RAM, Windows NT 4.0 with SP4.
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0-R)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3-R, mixed mode)
Mozilla M16, Webclient source from August 07, 2000
This problem doesn't occurr with the same setup, but with NT4.0 SP3 and
JDK1.2.2. I'm trying it with JDK 1.3.0 now.
Ed
I can't reproduce this with the latest Webclient code/Mozilla M16/JDk1.2 WINNT
4.0 SP3.
Please post console output and reopen if necessary.

JVM crashes only when HotSpot is in "mixed mode" (it is default mode). When it
is in "interpreted mode" (-Xint option) all works fine.

So is this a problem with the Sun JVM rather than Mozilla, then?

This only happens on WINNT 4.0 SP3.
The workaround is to not have your mouse pointer inside where the window will
pop up, until the after the window pops up.

You must upgrade to WinNT 4.0 SP4 or greater. We won't be fixing this bug for
SP3. If you feel really strongly about it, we might re-consider the WONTFIX
resolution.

It doesn't reproduce now.
I verify it.
WinNT4 SP4, Netscape61_RELEASE, JAVADEV_6_1_20010831, JDK 1.3.1.
