(Whiteboard: closeme 2009-12-30)
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011912 Firefox/3.0.6 GTB5 Build Identifier: 2.0.0.19 (20081209) I am using Mac OS 10.5.8, Thunderbird 2.0.0.19, Microsoft Excel 2008 for Mac. Problem is every time I send an email with an excel attachment (.xlsx) to another Mac user also running 10.5.8 and receiving mail via VMware and Outlook. Every attachment has the suffix stripped and replaced with .dat and is unreadable. I send the same attachment using Entourage from my Mac to the same person and the attachment goes over fine. So same attachment, same other variables, just one mail app sends it without issue and the other does not. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.compose email via thunderbird 2.attach excel file (.xlsx) - use Microsoft Excel 2008 for Mac 3.send email Actual Results: Recipient receives file but it has now been renamed to filename.dat vs filename.xlsx and is unreadable. Expected Results: Recipient should be able to receive and open the file.

mimetypes.rdf in your profile may be messed up somehow. Tried deleting it?

Yes, I removed it completely and restarted Thunderbird but no change.
