478742 - Degrading performance when arrowing through the list of downloads, when number of files exceeds about 50

STR:
1. Create a profile, or download 50 or more files without cleaning up the download list.
2. Observation: When arrowing through the list of files, the more files that are in there, the slower the response (changing focus from one item to the next) is.

I'm seeing this with about 70 files, have had reports from others who have 50, and one who started having problems with 100+ files.

This is in both Firefox 3.0.x and 3.1b3pre.

I don't think this blocks; there's a workaround, which is to use the Clear All function to keep the list down, and the search function which helps you find the specific download you're looking for.

Should see if there's a fix, though.

Hello,
I think this has improved a little in Firefox 3.0.5 and newer.
I can remember with Firefox 3.0 I was unable to even get curent item spoken on time with NVDA 0.6p1 and NVDA 0.6p2.
Currently I have got 67 items in my download manager window and although the lag while browsing this list is noticeable it's still useable. It's a bit worse when download is in progress and it even affects popup menu for the active item. When a file is downloading and I am about to copy its download link using copy link functionality from its popup menu I am not getting menu items spoken on time so I have got used to use mneumonics bound to the items of my interest in this case.
Just out of curiosity I'd be happy to hear some comments from GNOME users as from my observation navigating lists and treeviews is generally sluggish with Orca on my machine.
