If you fx open a newsserver twisty Mozilla start checking the newsserver for new
messages, but when you close the twisty Mozilla keeps checking. Closing a twisty
should stop all network activity right away.

Henrik: If Thunderbird is doing things in the background that will improve the user experience the next time the twisty is opened, continuing network activity seems reasonable to me. What's the problem you want to see solved?
