From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; m17) Gecko/20000807
BuildID: 2000080712
After deleting the currently installed version of mozilla, unzipping the new one
and running it if there is a windows explorer open I'm finding the printer
folder and control panel folder replaced in the view as "W:"
To recover close explorer end reopen it
It is happening since a while but I figured out how it happens only now.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.have available two talkback versions of mozilla
2.have the older version installed and working
3.close all mozillas
4.open windows explorer in a way that you have in view the mozilla directory and
the printer/control panel folders
5.delete the bin dir containing mozilla
6.unzip in same location the newer version
7.start mozilla
Actual Results: see the attached image.
Expected Results: nothing wierd

Is still happening with 080908.
About win98, not counting the applications it is win98 original edition plus all
the critical updates and IE5.5
The real drives are 1 ata HD, 1 scsi hd hooked on aha2920, 1scsi cd burner, 1
ata dvd drive

I can't duplicate either
I *highly* doubt that this is a mozilla problem, it's a lot more likely that
it's just randome windows suckage.

This is probably due to a SCSI misconfiguration/hardware error. When you delete
moz you delete alot of files (almost 2000) creating lots of disk traffic. Is
moz installed on the SCSI drive? you may have some sort of error in your SCSI
setup and I highly doubt that this is a moz problem. Also, when is the last
time you defragmented your disk drives?

Still repeatable with win98 2000082508.
IMO defrag does not matter at all. More likely is the fact that moz is doing
something "unusual" which triggers the odd refresh of items list in windows
explorer left pan. One more detail, I have disabled all the possible animations
and made winexplorer to behave as like win95 as possible

I saw this once a while back but it was after deleting mozilla before installing
a new version. Mozilla wasn't even running .

Still there with (win98 2000090110)
It happens only at the first run of the new moz after removing an older version

I'm pretty sure this is a windows problem and not a mozilla problem. I saw this
happen last night on my wi98 machine athome when I deleted an mIRC folder

This has got to be a windows bug and not a mozilla bug. We have no way of
modifying explorer's view. Resolving as invalid - not a mozilla bug.
