I downloaded my yahoo.ca e-mail (200 or so messages arrived un-read in inbox) and then noticed they were deleted from the server so I changed my account server setting to add the option to leave them on the server and when I did all the un-read messages in my inbox dissappeared. i.e I no longer have the 200 messages on my PC or on the yahoo server!! Whoops!!

Please provide the information needed to reproduce the problem.

Which of the following Server Settings were/are checked?

_ Automatically download new messages
_ Fetch headers only
_ Leave messages on server:
  _ for at most x days
  _ until I delete them

I could not reproduce this problem with my US Yahoo.com account on MacOS 10.3.9.

Which of the following Server Settings did I check?

X Automatically download new messages

I can reproduce this. I retretrieve mail from mail.tele2.se, though, 
and not from Yahoo. My emails retreived from the server are deleted on the server, 
even though the check box "leave messages on server" is marked.
I believe I have this problem since I upgraded from thunderbird 1.xx to
current version , 2.0.0.21, about a week ago.

Erik, so you believe this is a regression?  can you reproduce with version 3?

I use this feature since I want to download all messages to different computers, but I do not have problems with this any more. Sorry, but I can´t remember if I did anything to make it work (settings changes) or not. Half a year ago...
I have not installed version 3 yet. (But I sure will soon.) I will come back if I have any problems!
