Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.18pre) Gecko/20080917 Sunbird/0.9
When I told Sunbird to show me the events in the next 14 days, it omitted all repeating events that started before today. It appears that the calendar core doesn't look up the repeated events.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create any repeating event that would repeat (not initial) during the next 7 days, 14 days, or month.
2. Select a view mode for the Upcoming events window that shows only 7 days, 14 days, or one month.
3.
Actual Results:
Calendar will hide the repeated events unless their initial occurrence is during that time frame.
Expected Results:
Calendar should show all occurrences during the selected time frame.

WFM using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b5pre) Gecko/20090429 Lightning/1.0pre (20090429) Shredder/3.0b3pre. But if you create an event, the event list (unifinder/Find Events) does not get updated. After selecting the item from the filter dropdown, the list gets updated.

Daniel, could you attach an example event that fails? Please also mention what filter you are using, and on what day you checked.
Flags: needinfo?(philipp) → needinfo?(dcarterza+bugzilla)
Steps to reproduce
1) Set up a repeating event with the title "Test" beginning on a day or more before today, and repeating (daily/yearly/whatever)
2) Click "Events and tasks" -> "Find events" to open the Find Events window.
Select "All future events" and in the "Contain" box type "Test".
What I expect to see:
Since repeats of my event "Test" occur one more times in the future I would expect to see it listed in the filtered results, even though the first of the events occurred in the past. I expect either the event to be listed once (with details of the repeat settings shown in the details) or listed for every date it repeats (limited to a reasonable number of times with a "More..." link to display later events).
What I do see:
No events "Test" appear in the filtered list.

Thanks, I can reproduce with those steps. I think your issue is covered in bug 310853. For a workaround I'd suggest using the "Events in the next XXX days" filter.

The description for Bug 310853 (reported 9 years ago and still open!) is a bit different, though the fix might cover this situation as well.
Selecting "Events in the next XXX days" is limited to 31 days so does not find events far in the future eg to find when next I have to renew my car registration.
