I am still having the same error. Other people in the office can also reach facebook but I can not. This has been happening for 24 hours now? It appears to be more than a temporary condition.

Do you use a firewall on your system ? Please Firefox in the Firefox safemode to be sure that this isn't caused by extensions. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode and delete the Firefox cache under Tools/clear private data.
I have deleted the cache and started in safe mode and still can not access facebook. its is the same error.
Is there a firewall installed ? Can you please use the windows startmenu, select "run", enter "cmd" , enter "ping www.facebook.com" in the dos window. right click in the Dos window and select "select", select the whole output of the command with the mouse and the text should turn white, press enter (text is copied into clipboard) and paste it here as comment.
To lisa@blackcatfireworks.com(bug opener): Get NSPR log, and check protocol level flow first. > http://www.mozilla.org/projects/netlib/http/http-debugging.html > For HTTP headers : See http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2616.html If timer related issue such as timeout is involved, get NSPR log with timestamp using DebugView(you are using MS Win). See Bug 402793 Comment #6. If Fx's fault is suspected, get log with; - Fx 3, -safe-mode (add-ons are disbed) - Fx 3, with new profile (add-on is not installed) - Nightly latest-trunk build of Fx, with new profile Does you problem still occur? Fx's fault is still suspected? If and only if evidence of Firefox's fault is seen in log, and if log analysis by developers is required, attach log file to this bug(never paste, please).
