i have a slow computer so it takes forever for seamonkey to open
perhaps it needs to become a lighter process

CPU?
Memory?
Operating System/Version?
Do you have extensions installed?
Does this still happen if you start SeaMonkey with the -safe-mode command line switch?

it doesn't use very much processing power once it has been opened
i am using 2.0a3 (i think)
i have the add-ons known as
"no-script"
"MR Tech Toolkit"
"ChatZilla"
"ad-block plus"
i have windows xp home
Version: unspecified → Other Branch
Please try in Safe mode ( http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.0a2/#troubleshooting ), or with a new profile ( http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile ).

No satisfactory answer in more than 4 months to the questions asked in comment #1 and comment #3 => INCOMPLETE

- How much main memory?
- Operating system name? OS version? What service packs if any?
