Details

With a recent bugzilla upgrade, we got the attachments-in-subdomains fix, so that an attachment URL now looks like this:

https://bug445611.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=364319

Even though this was done to help compartmentalize attachments so that they weren't in the bugzilla.mozilla.org domain for same-origin checks, it has a nice user-facing benefit too: you can now easily see which bug an attachment is associated with, where you couldn't before (without appending "&action=edit" or some equivalent trick).

What surprised me, though, is that browsing to the host name (e.g. bug445611.bugzilla.mozilla.org ) took me to :

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

I would have expected it to take me to:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445611

This bug is requesting the latter behaviour.

It's fine by me to move this bug to target bugzilla upstream, but since the obvious way to do it is as a set of rewrite rules, I thought perhaps it would be specific to our install.
