In general Applets do not get resized by FireFox 3 properly. Specifically when loading an image of a specific size in the ChartNotes applet from www.stockcharts.com the displayed PNG is distorted. The colors will be off and the location of the image will be off.

Is there anyway to programmatically prevent the resizing of an Applet within a browser window? I understand you can turn off auto resizing/zooming of images as an option under the view drop down window, but it would be nice not to have to relate this information to non-technical users, and just have it occur silently in the background.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Goto: http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$INDU&p=DAILY&b=5&g=0&id=0&r=3072&depth=24&listNum=&cmd=chartnotes,499|575
2. Press control/command - to shrink page.
3. Close window
4. Navigate back to http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$INDU&p=DAILY&b=5&g=0&id=0&r=3072&depth=24&listNum=&cmd=chartnotes,499|575
5. Loaded image will be distorted (colors will be off/location will be off)
Actual Results:  
Colors distorted, placement of image wrong.

Expected Results:  
If anything a clipped Applet with the image displayed properly, if cut off.

This is a mass search for bugs which are in the Firefox General component, are
UNCO, have not been changed for 500 days and have an unspecified version. 

Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or later, create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you still see the issue, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the status to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.

Distortion of color still occurs in Mac FireFox 3.6.1. Applet is still resized in Windows XP FireFox 3.6.1, but not distorted.

Reproducible: Always

To reproduce on Mac:
1) Goto: http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$INDU&p=DAILY&b=5&g=0&id=0&r=3072&depth=24&listNum=&cmd=chartnotes,499|575

2) Press command + - (the command key then the minus/dash key) twice.

3) Refresh the page.

4) If the color of the chart within the Applet is not distorted press command + 0. Colors should now be distorted.

The color is distorted most of the time after refreshing the page after pressing command + -. Sometimes it is necessary to press command + 0 to get the distortion after the refresh.

Expected Results:
If anything resizing/clipping of the Applet.
