When you select a mail in the list, the other mails with same sender and same subject are highlighted. This is a great help when you receive a lot of automated emails.
It's a different way to show mail by thread, but only with the same sender.

I think that this feature decrease UI usability: for example if I have different colored tags on my messages list, I have other colored lines for sender... I think that would increase the confusion: too many colors are unclear.

However you can obtain the messages of a sender with Gloda.

For me this should be wontfix.

No, to messages on "messages pane" list

I suppose that Cedric want that:

When you select message [3], messages [1,3,4] should be highilited.
When you select message [2], messages [2,4] should be highilited.

I think that this is confusing because I use to tag messages and if, for example, I have tagged message [2] if TB highlight it with another color for me is confusing (it as an "colors hell" UI antipattern)

Yes, that's what I was refering to Aureliano.

When you select message [3], messages [1,3,4] (same thread)should be highilited.
