I work with people in the US, UK, Germany, France, and Australia. So I downloaded the relevant files from
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/holidays.html
to track their availability and holidays.
I now have entries such as 8 March: 'Daylight Savings begins'. Great. Which country does it apply to? (US, as it happens.) What do I do with all the 'Good Friday' entries? How can I know which countries are on holiday, and which aren't?
Each holiday needs to indicate which country it applies to/is associated with. Indicating whether it's a public holiday (US)/bank holiday (UK) etc. would also be very useful.

Why not just subscribe each holiday file in separate calendar and assign a unique color to each? In my opinion there is no need to add redundant information to each event.

What Stefan said. The ability to have this information coming from different calendars is really an asset of Lightning and Sunbird.
