Humm... Should a user be allowed to change their username? What do other people think?
I don't think it's common practice on sites to allow username changes. So I don't see anything wrong with not allowing it.

It's an interesting question, I do think it's odd when sites let users change their names. I think it's confusing for other users if someone does this frequently. If someone wants to do it on a one off basis I think it's good practice to ask an admin for assistance.

Can you currently change someone else's username as an admit? If not, we could make this bug about that. Although it may be alright to just have the user erase the account and create a new one.

That wouldn't be ideal at all. Watches, post counts etc would all be lost. In the worst case we should be able to file a bug and have the name changed in the db.

I'm with Lucy that it's best to handle this on a case-by-case basis and have people contact an admin if they need to change the name. That should be possible to do by an admin, and if it already is, this bug should be marked as WFM. If not, I think we should just make it possible from the admin interface, not in My Accounts.

Yes, admins can change usernames currently in tiki-adminusers.php
