found using 2000.08.09.10-m18 commercial bits on linux. not a problem on winnt or Mac. and rkaa doesn't see this on the mozilla linux bits either. open the Preference dialog from the browser: * observe in the category tree on the left that Composer is missing. * click on Appearance: note that there are only two checkboxes and content for Navigator and Mail. there should be one for Composer, but it ain't there.

actually I think it is more global than just composer, on win98 if I leave the prefs panel open the app freezes
in 2000080910 M18 linux nighlty the category is there BUT the tabs only contain stripped forms and radio buttons: all explanatory text is gone.
beppe: weird, i cannot repro that on winnt...sounds like another bug anyhow. :) rkaa: what you're seeing sounds like bug 44571...

nope, still absent in 2000.08.14.12 [opt commercial]. however, if they *are* there in today's [8/15], lemme know. i doubt it.

composer prefs seem ok in M18 2000081509 mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz The tab for "new page settings" isn't properly skinned, but that's another bug. (green/purple borders around color fields)
I need to fix in ns tree, mozilla is fine.
