This came up in a discussion with M. Beltzner, while chatting about his proposed beta webpage:

Based on my past discussions, people are 100% reluctant to install Minefield, until they are informed it can be run from an isolated directory, without mucking-up the default Firefox 3.0 installation. Looking at the Firefox Beta download website, it does seem to be an either-or proposition, and this may be scary away potential beta testers.
Propose making text changes to website, such that visitors are encouraged to use Minefield in separate directory - without overwriting their existing Firefox installation. ex: "Try out Firefox 3.5 features today, without losing your current Firefox version. Click here for instructions!"
