Details
I just installed the 2.0 alpha 3 release. I can paste into the browser, but I can't copy anything. I used ^C, Edit/Copy, and context-Copy from the address bar, text fields, and content on the page, but it never makes it into the buffer. I used both my imported profile and a new profile.

I tried it again with the latest nightly, build 20090311001351. Same results. I noticed that if I do a cut, it does delete the text, but the text still isn't available on the clipboard.

So this is Seamonkey specific? Or does this happen also on Firefox or elsewhere?

Dan: Can you try if this also happens with a Firefox build from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-1.9.1/ ?

Firefox/Shiretoko 3.1b4pre, build 20090312 works just fine, so it seems to be specific to SeaMonkey.

Strange, moving to SeaMonkey for now.
Dan: Do you get any error in the Error Console when doing a copy?

No. Nothing is sent to the error console when pressing Control-C or context/copy.
