In ff3 you could configure the clear private data dialog to always open with everything unchecked (as well as any other desired state).
This clear state helps minimize the chances of accidental data loss by forcing you to explicitly specify what you want to delete before you can click the delete button (it's disabled)
ff31b3 remembers the last selection.  There needs to be at least an option to restore old behavior
