On the new all-beta download page the new download button give localizations no flexibility in choosing the correct wording. The width is trimmed so that the English content will fit nicely. But most of the other locales have to trim the content instead. Same applies to German. We had to convert - to say it in English - "free download" into "download". For marketing purposes it is definitely not the right choice as people already complained.

Can we make the download button more flexible so it automatically sizes to its content? There is a lot of space on the right side which is unused right now.

invalid, the reason you can't do that is that you did not follow the instructions in bug #482781 and used the wrong code for the download box. The code used for localized versions allows overriding the default text. You also not have per locale page styling possible since you forked the localization process on this task, please don't.

Thanks Pascal. That's correct, we have taken the wrong file as basis. Now after talking on IRC and updating the page it's fine. Pascal has updated the German CSS too so the full text can be displayed inside the download button.
