When loading PDF content using Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.00.332 (Integrated Plug-in), firefox crashes after receiving 206 (Partial Content) response from server. Crash occurs during the download of the content, or after the content has been cached.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit url: http://www.roche.com:80/hy05e.pdf (Or any PDF document)
2. During download of content after receiving 206 response crash will occur
Actual Results:
Browser receives 200 OK, begins to download PDF content using ISO 8859-1 char set. Depending on content size crash occurs during download, of seconds after content has been cached to disk.
Expected Results:
PDF document should be cached and displayed normaly.
All parameters are default with standard build and install of mozilla firefox 3.1b3. Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.00.332 integrated plug-in could be part of the issue as the crash generaly occurs after the transmission of PDF data has been passed to the plug-in.
All crashes occur after receiving a 200 OK, then 206 Partial Content responses from the server.
Bug was fixed by automatic update of browser plugin, version 9.0.0.332 may still experience issues.

we'd still like a crash report...
could you at least indicate which version of the plugin you have now?

Further research found this bug was due to the incompatibility with the YoYo Games plug-in found at http://www.yoyogames.com/plugins/ffplugin/YoYo.xpi, Adobe Acrobat reader 9.0.0.332 and Firefox 3.1b3. This crash cannot be reproduced as the YoYo games plug-in no longer install under Firefox 3.1b3 due to the "identified" incompatibility.
The bug was first produced when installing the plug-in using Firefox 3.0.8, after which version 3.1b3 was installed and received the plug-in bypassing the primary installation stage. Performing this along with the installation of Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in version 9.0.0.332 may reproduce the bug.
I will try to get a stack trace if possible for future reference ASAP.
